Yesterday saw the incredible XC mountain bike event held on our doorstep on Cannock Chase. Did you see it? Were you there? Are you feeling inspired?
English XC MTB riders, Evie Richards, Joe Blackmore & Harry Birchill did the nation proud yesterday. Current World Champion, Evie dominated the women's race from start to finish to take gold while in the mens race Joe finished a fantastic 5th after a strong battle for bronze while Harry came home 8th.
Local Legacy
Over the last few weeks we have been trying to stay tight lipped, but did you know that our very own Matt Williams was directly involved in the organisation of the race? Matt has been incredibly busy looking after a team of volunteers as well as being very hands on with course design and marking, making sure the recent Blue Route works were used to there fullest as well as brand new sections such Deers Leep.
For those of you that feel inspired by the success of the riders and the amazing location that Cannock Chase is for mountain biking, we have the perfect opportunity for you... Our annual Summer Classic race is being held in only a few short weeks (3rd September).
