Applicable to Bike Box Hire
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before hiring a bike box from Bike Box Hire ("the Company"). By hiring a bike box, you ("the Hirer") agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Definitions

"Bike Box": The container hired by the Hirer for the purpose of transporting a bicycle.

"Hire Period": The agreed duration for which the Hirer rents the Bike Box, commencing on the collection date and ending on the return date.

"Hire Fee": The total cost payable by the Hirer for the hire of the Bike Box, as specified at the time of booking.

"Damage Deposit": A refundable sum payable by the Hirer as security against loss or damage to the Bike Box.
2. Booking and Payment

Bookings can be made via our website, telephone, or in person.

A booking is only confirmed once the Hire Fee has been paid in full.

Payment can be made online by credit/debit card or instore by credit/debit card or cash.

The Hire Fee covers the rental of the Bike Box for the agreed Hire Period only. It does not include insurance or any other additional services unless explicitly stated.
3. Collection and Return

The Hirer is responsible for collecting and returning the Bike Box at the agreed location and time.

The Hirer must inspect the Bike Box upon collection and notify the Company immediately of any existing damage. Failure to do so will deem the Bike Box to be in good condition at the start of the Hire Period.

The Bike Box must be returned in a clean and undamaged condition, fair wear and tear excepted, at the agreed time and location.

Late returns may be subject to additional charges at the Company's discretion.
4. Use of the Bike Box

The Bike Box is to be used solely for the purpose of transporting bicycles.

The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the bicycle is securely and appropriately packed within the Bike Box. The Company accepts no responsibility for damage to the bicycle due to inadequate packing.

The Hirer must not overload the Bike Box beyond its recommended weight limit (if specified).

The Hirer shall not make any alterations or modifications to the Bike Box.
5. Damage and Loss

The Hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to the Bike Box during the Hire Period, beyond reasonable wear and tear.

In the event of damage, the Hirer must notify the Company immediately.

The cost of repair or replacement of the Bike Box due to damage caused by the Hirer will be deducted from the Damage Deposit (£100 due at the time of collection). If the cost exceeds the Damage Deposit, the Hirer will be liable for the additional amount.

In the event of loss or theft of the Bike Box during the Hire Period, the Hirer will be liable for the full replacement cost of the Bike Box.
6. Cancellation Policy

The Hirer may cancel their booking subject to the following conditions:

Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to the agreed collection time will receive a full refund of the Hire Fee.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the agreed collection time will be subject to a 50% refund of the Hire Fee.

The Damage Deposit will be refunded in full upon cancellation, provided the Bike Box has not been collected.
7. Damage Deposit

A Damage Deposit of £100.00 is payable at the time of booking.

The Damage Deposit will be refunded to the Hirer upon the safe return of the Bike Box in an undamaged and clean condition, less any deductions for damage or loss as outlined in Section 5.

Refund of the Damage Deposit will typically be processed within 1-5 business days of the return of the Bike Box.
8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Company's liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the hire of the Bike Box shall be limited to the Hire Fee paid by the Hirer.

The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including but not limited to loss of profits, travel expenses, or inconvenience.
9. Indemnity

The Hirer agrees to indemnify and hold the Company harmless against any claims, actions, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with the Hirer's use of the Bike Box, except to the extent that such loss or damage is directly caused by the negligence of the Company.
10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Hirer and the Company and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether oral or written.
By proceeding with the hire, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
